A carrier's contracts are not price lists. They are lanes, cargo configurations, validity periods and surcharges that change on their own schedule.

CargoVerse contract management holds every customer agreement for RoRo, PCTC and breakbulk cargo in one model: the contract, its rate sets, the contract rate lines per port pair and cargo configuration, and the charge codes on each line. Published contracts price bookings directly.

The contract model

From contract to charge code

A contract is tied to the customer and to the right carrier legal entity. It holds several rate sets, each with its own validity. Each rate set has lines per port pair, cargo class, configuration and dimensions, and each line carries several charge codes with their own currency, rate and unit.

Contract rates workspace

Work on hundreds of lines at once

Contract rates are maintained in one workspace with a validity timeline, filters on cargo class, trade lane and dimensions, and each charge code as its own column. Change one charge code on every selected line in a single action instead of editing line by line.

  • Edit in grid, copy lines, and export.
  • Duplicate lines are blocked.
  • Add a new charge code as a new column across the rate set.

From contract to booking

Published contracts price the booking

When a contract is published, bookings are priced from it through an API, in your booking or ERP system. The lookup uses the customer, the carrier legal entity and the trade lane, so the rate the customer agreed is the rate the booking gets.

Quotes in CargoVerse CPQ use the same contract rates, alongside deck contribution per square metre and equipment fit for breakbulk. Logistics providers use the same model to quote high & heavy and breakbulk end to end.

Frequently asked questions

What is contract management in CargoVerse?

Contract management in CargoVerse holds customer contracts, rate sets, contract rate lines and surcharges in one model built for RoRo, PCTC and breakbulk. Each line carries port pair, cargo class, configuration, dimensions and several charge codes, and published contracts price bookings through an API.

How are surcharges such as BAF handled?

BAF, currency and port surcharges are kept in one global library. They are applied automatically by trade lane, country or port, and can be overridden per customer contract.

Can a contract have different rates for different periods?

Yes. A contract holds several rate sets, each with its own validity, so rates for the first and second half of a year, or for an option year, sit side by side under the same contract.

How does contract management connect to CPQ?

Quotes in CargoVerse CPQ look up the customer, carrier legal entity and trade lane, and use the contract rates when a contract exists. Spot requests use the tariff.
